300 GORGEOUS MEN OF SPARTA!

so, i was watching 300 yesterday and i know i'm a bit tardy but hey i've finally watched it! that's all that matters. *blegh* anyways, i must say i am very impressed by the way this movie was filmed. the storyline was impeccable, the graphics were out of this world and the cast, they were just totally orgasmic. 300 hot spartan men with their brown brief's, perfect body (even their legs were perfect), cloak and their stringy black sandals. what impressed me more was their allegiance to their country and their leader and not to mention their bravery. in form 2 history we learnt that in sparta their men were bred for the army but i must say that i did not fully comprehend the meaning of "breed" in this context. the beginning of the movie was definately a mind opening.

now to my favourite parts of the movie

• right at the beginning when leonidas as a boy kills the wolf..damn! the way he circled the wolf and strategised clearly illustrates that size does not matter! *go small people, GO GO*
• when they find the tree of dead people made by the so called "immortals" who weren't really immortal after all..boohoo!

• ooh ooh, when king leonidas went to see the oracle. who the hell would've thought that the oracle was a spirit in a beautiful woman? that scene was totally erogenic.


• the first fight scene!!!! i must say that the spartans did truly master the art of fighting. so skilled, so perfected..
  
• the second fight scene when they were swarmed by falling arrows! blimey, their shields must've been really strong.


• well all the following fight scenes when they battle the monsters of persia. its amazing how much these 300 men accomplished..


• when king leonidas sends his messenger back to sparta, he says to him "tell them our story, and why we fought...ask them to remember us".....truly touching. well its pretty obvious that they're all gonna die at this point. :(


• when the queen of sparta kills the bad politician in front of the council. totally unanticipated...but i'm glad she did it. that sly bastard! *girl power...woohoo!*
  
• the saddest part but the most significant part of the movie, king leonidas bows down to the self proclaimed persian "god" king??? even the persian king was equally surprised as i was...then BAM! he threw his spear with a mighty thrust and just scraped the side of the persian kings face...guess wht happened? he bled of course...aint no god after all huh? the king, the last man standing died with honour as he received the tens of thousands of arrow that rained on him.

sigh, well that's all there is to the movie people. definately a prodigious movie that's worth every penny you paid for it, worth the crying babies you had to put up with and worth the trouble of getting to the cinema in the rain. at the end of the movie, the ladies leave with the message "you aint no real man if you aint a spartan man.." and the men leave with the message "dang! i better start hitting the gym or my woman's gonna flee to sparta.." hehe, its all good...everybody leaves with something innit?

end of one chapter and beginning of another

it's funny how circumstances bind people together. when i first moved to melbourne i was so majorly home sick. i didn't like anything about melbourne, nor the ppl i met here. it was different for sure but i just didnt wanna move away from home and find myself. i was looking fwd to winter vacation so badly because i was coming home. even when i left to come back to melbourne i was really upset.

however, it was nice to meet familiar faces in melbourne this time and exchange stories of our holidays bck at home. guess this semester everybody were just more comfortable with each other and the fact tht we've been through one sem of uni and we passed kinda gave us the idea of wht uni is like and how the system works. party hard sem tht's for sure. clubbing every friday, chilling in each others room, problems tht arose...whteva it was bonds were formed tht's for sure. especially for me as last sem i didnt mingle as much as i did this sem. looked beyond the front tht people put on. at the end of the day, the misunderstandings, the arguments, the bitching, the drama had its benefits. no matter what, we are family. i never thought that i would make good friends here but guess what i have. at the end of the day, family and friends are support systems, and people need support every single day. a sense of belonging. yesterday, sandhya left for singapore. i was never close to this chick but this sem we were neighbours and i actually got to know her pretty damn gd. i felt upset that she left. i am gonna see her next yr for sure, we're both doing vet science but i guess its the fact that this year has ended and we're not gonna be seeing each other for the next 3 months. after practically living together, its hard to not see each other for that long.

the person i'd miss the most is richa koshy, the most awesome chick i've met in melbourne. we've lived together in each others room for about 1 month now. both of us have this really strong connection because we share almost the same views on life and basically we had similar problems and needs at exactly the same time. talking to her was like talking to my inner voice. silence between us signals comfort. the laughter, the tears, the pimping and playing was all good.

i guess what im getting at is that part of me does not wanna leave melbourne city. the place i disliked completely 4 months ago is now home. of course there's no real home like malaysia but this place, my friends here are my home for now and its sad that we're parting even for a short while.

just a bunch of random shit

it wasnt just me k, yday and today have been a day full of random stuff happening. out of the blue and *kabaam* it's right there in front of your face.

Think of the last time you had an interesting chemistry lecture. well, study at the university of melbourne and you'd never find chemistry boring. yday we had a parade of nudist in lecture. prof was crapping abt some reaction of the nitrogen gp's and as i said earlier..*kabaam* a whole bunch of penis's and tits happily bouncing about in front of your face. hmm...random? OH YESSS.....

Proceeding with all randomness, yesterday was also my college's trivia night at a pub nearby. as usual, any average australian teenage party is full of drinks and stripping. lolz! now tht isnt random k, the random thing was the same bunch of nudist at chemistry lecture, rmb them?...well they appeared at the pub again..and this time i had a close up. ;) too many penis's for one day i say. and that was the end of day 1.

Day 2 started of fine with boring physics prac. and in the afternoon i had my working with animals prac. rat husbandry, so the lecturer was giving us final instructions and a tour of the animal house. so only 2/5 ppl in my group were there. (including me obviously) my gp mate and i were wondering where the others were. anyways so we joint the first gp for the tour and on the way to the animal house we saw one of our gp mates making out with her girlfriend at the back of one of the buildings...how random is tht??!!! SHE'S LESBIAN!!! goodness, we better watch out for her now. a whole gp full of girls and a lesbian.

Just thought that tht was a day full of randomness when i just received a msg from my darling bf which read "Can you believe they are still together after all the shit that has happened between them for all these years..who?....your ASS!!" well prax, that's you then now in our case..ha ha ha ha! i love you loads..

i'm sick!!!!

i've only been in this freaking place for 1 week now and im bloody sick..well, tht's sheer exaggeration. im having a flu and i think its my fault. when for a swim today..(actually signed up with the uni pool so i can exercise and tone up...dreams of having jessica alba's body!)anyways, after doing 12 laps, *yes only 12* came back had a shower and slept of on my wet hair. and when i got up i was sniffling. got dammit!!!! anyways, very hungry la now...so just went and got some instant noodles like a picchakaren..ha ha ha! oh well, at least i got it. nighty night!

of amides and slime

talking abt the importance of delocalisation of electrons in amide gp are in the maintenance of the tertiary and quartenary structure of proteins in lecture today. "we are a walking bag of proteins" said prof grieser. if there were no delocalisation of electrons in the amide gp, there will be no specific protein structure and we'll all become slime. *interesting thought*. that said, he mentioned "nevertheless, some are still slime bags anyways" and the class burst out into laughter.

watch out for club D.Y.F.A!!

friday night calls for only one thing...C.L.U.B.B.I.N.G!! wee..anyways, it was monash indian society get together thing at a club called altitude in the city. so shantz, nina, and their frens ashwin, hans, arin and supriya came over to the city. after dinner, it was dressing up time and after that we headed out to party!! i guess i was shocked when i saw the location of the club. it was in a dark alleyway off russel st. shouldve gotten used to this though because most clubs are in these kinda alley's. there was a sign though tht said " safe alley. security camera." so gues i feeld better after tht. bck to the story, never in my life hv i seen so many indians in one place in melb city k. most of them of course were aussy breed. very very stuck up ppl. even worst than the whites i tell you. anyways, we waited in the que for so long, reason being there were too many ppl in the club. after abt 20 mins of freezing our arse's of in the cold they finally let us in. nothing makes you feel better like the sounds of gd RnB music. anyways, had a few vodka and tequila shots with shanu and we headed for the dance floor. it was so fun!! they had bhangra and all, (DUH!! the theme was "indian night"). so we basically had tons of fun and abt 4 we took a cab back to monash uni.

the next day was post mortem day..we(shanu and i)agreed tht the songs could've been better and tht the way we spend money we would either:
a) need to marry a really really rich man...
OR
b) earn the millions ourselves..
and suddenly we came up with this brilliant idea of opening our own club. club D.Y.F.A (Dance Your Feet Away) so we shared this idea with nina and we formed a partnership. we all agreed tht D.Y.F.A is gonna hv a black and red interior, ceiling which is made from those black plaster things with shiny stuff on it, 2 bars: 1 with a damn hott male who can do smooth tricks with bottles, and the other with 3 hott females, a big screen playing video's to all the songs we play,and some awesome lighting and effects. oh yes, and it's gonna be a RnB/hip hop/rap music club. tht's just the layout of wht we want our club to be. bouncers, we've got some of our ex-G8 classmates in mind, DJ- tht's shanu's life mission, to either date a really hott bartender or DJ. vicky, nina's bf is only worth doing the checklist (vicky it was nina's suggestion, so deal with her yeah!) and prakash is gonna do the audio, surround sound and big screen stuff since he was in charge of the audio in high school.

well, tht's it for now..will let ya know abt the progress of club D.Y.F.A in time to come. cheers!!
just hope tht we can someday make our big dreams a reality. would be brilliant!!

it's all about LOVE baby!!

i never in a million yrs thought tht i would be a sucker for romantic comedies and love stories. but guess wht, I AM!! i just love the feeling you get when you see the couple in the movie surpass all the obstacles thrown at them and finally at the end they get together. of course this doesnt include the typical tamil/ hindi movie love stories where guy meets girl, one is rich the other is poor, family doenst agree, something happens, someone kills somebody, fight fight fight and at the end they see the light and the couple lives happily ever after. i like reality put into love stories. to me it doesnt matter whether the rship works out or not, it's just tht the situation should be something we all can relate too. something everyone goes through. i love crying for the happy moments and sad moments tht touch my heart because it feels so real even though its just a damn movie.

2. the girl in the cafe
3. my best friends wedding
4. bridget jones diary 1
5. lake house...the most recent one i've watched.

starring keanu reeves from the ever popular matrix and sandra bullock from ms congeniality, lake house is truly one of the best love stories i've ever seen. although it's a fairly serious movie, it has bits of gd humour lumped into it. this movie is about a girl, who falls in love with a guy who's living 2 yrs in the past..yes sandra bullock is the girl from the future..yeah, i know it doesnt seem real but the challenges they face are real enough for me to relate too...it's basically about waiting for the person you love no matter how many yrs tht would be. are you willing to take the risk? wht if it doenst work out? are you willing to face the consequences of the time you hv wasted waiting for tht particular person? in my case the ans is obvious isnt it. life is all abt taking risks athough you do hv to be rational about it. things you really want in life never comes easy. it's either you work damn hard for it, or if everythings going unexpectingly smooth...there is a catch somewhere. in this movie, both waited. and yes, it was a beautiful ending. when they kissed i felt so happy because everythin was right. at the end of the day, it's hope tht keeps you alive. hope tht one day, everything will be alright. without hope, where would one be? tht's wht im hanging on too.

and of course...the brilliance put into producing my all time fav romantic comedy LOVE ACTUALLY is applaudable. everytime i watch tht movie i cry. all the love stories in tht movie was so real, well...almost all. think hugh grants presidential behaviour when he was in love was unacceptable. very unreal..

anyways, all this talk abt love is making me cry...i hope tht when you guys find true love, hang on...its gonna be a rough ride but it'll be worth it in the end.
