if you thought getting into uni is a breeze.....think again!!

i seriously don't know where to start. so september last year i got down to business and started my research on universities that offer veterinary science in australia. there were 5 in total and i picked 3, uni melb, uni sydney and murdoch. then IDP education australia had an open day and all the universities were going to be there. application fees were waived so more reason for me to apply then. so, made my appointments and all, and only submitted applications for uni melb and sydney. the representative of murdoch told me to submit my application when the actual results are released. this is the first phase. second phase begun when my results were released. made a photocopy of them and got it certified and sent it in to IDP. second phase was quick and easy but third phase, the process of waiting, is when all the trouble started. universities in aussy were closed for xmas and new yr and their offices only opened on the 4th of jan. so i waited and waited and waited. no reply!!! called IDP many times and they said still no reply. try and imagine my frustration....anyways, so mum and i went to their office and got contact numbers of the people dealing with international student admission in both melb and sydney. this was a friday ok. by the time we got home and called uni melb their office had already closed for the day, and they don't work on weekends. so had to wait for monday. when monday came, at about 7.30 in the morning mum called again. it seems that the bloody IDP hadn't sent my results in. so called them up and asked them why hadnt they sent my results and that idiot was like "oh actually the uni's can access your results online la." im like what shit la, then why did they require a certified photocopy of my results. i pested them for days, called and visited. by the time i got confirmation everybody there knew who i was. ;) anyways then sourced out accomodation, had to go through a phone interview and mail them a registration fee. so accomodation was confirmed. then i went online and cheked uni melb website and found out that orientation was on the 16th of feb. i panicked again!!! i had booked flight for the 21st....oh lord!! i tell you...mum had to call travel agent and he said not to worry he'll settle it. so fine...then dad money hadnt cleared so couldnt pay fee before deadline and can just imagine how pissed off i was. its tue and i havent got my visa done yet. and im leavin in 2 1/2 weeks and next week is chinese new yr. and we all know during chinese new yr the world stops spinning. anyways, im paying up tmr and hopefully my visa will be done before my departure if not i cant board my flight. oh well, phase 4 will begin when im in aussy so i'll be posting after the 15th. so, i guess this is it for now. you know, its true that things you really want in life dont come easy. well i guess its because things that do come easy once you get it you never really appreciate it. give it a thought. its really true and applies to all aspect of life. ttfn!!
